If you are having chest pains and think you are having a heart attack, call an ambulance. Below is my first draft of this post. The above sentence is the only thing I have to add and a nurse told me this. Call an ambulance because you will get immediately attention, instead of being asked questions.
Recently I took my brother to the emergency room. I understand they have to get the paperwork, but he was in pain and the person at the desk was not in a hurry. She asked questions that repeated herself.
Are you married? No Divorced? No. Have you ever been married? (seems like the other questions answered that one).
Then she asked for my mom’s phone number. We gave it. She then asked for my Dad’s. We gave it. They have a landline. She then had to ask, they have the same number? Not a big deal, but my brother was having a heart attack at the time.
Then a rather large male nurse in a football jersey came to get him. I pushed my brother in a wheelchair to a small room. I followed him and he stopped. Said woah, don’t run my over. I was not close to doing that.
I wanted to tell the guy, if he used his words, things would have been nicer. All he had to say was, we are going to stop at the scale. Then I would have known where to have taken him.
I know it’s a hard job. But if you work smarter, then maybe you can interact better with people. The care he received after these two were great. We are so thankful. The care in the ICU was great.
