Musings on Marriage

So the Bible has a few comments about homosexuality. Its the basis against gay marriage. However, he also has some things to say against divorce.

 1 Corinthians 7:10-11

To the married I give this charge (not I, but the Lord): the wife should not separate from her husband (but if she does, she should remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband), and the husband should not divorce his wife.

So, I want to know from those that go to a church that is against homosexuality, do they allow divorced people to remarry. And then let them sit in the pews with their new spouses?

Perhaps the verses use more shoulds than thou shall nots. But the Bible says more against divorce and remarriage than it does about homosexuality. Yet many divorce people are welcomed into church.

Which is great.

But it is also an allowance due to popularity. Those verses are ignored or interpreted away because the churches would be empty. Because humans have grown to understand that love should be encouraged more than the following of Bible verses.

Someday, this will also pertain to homosexuality. Why not start now? Gay people are allowed to get married now. And while there are many problems, they are not caused by this. Churches can continue to not allow gay people to get married in their church, but beyond that, let it go. Like we have done with divorce.
