Overheard Conversation
“I was at the gym and I bent over to tie my shoes and Keyshawn came over to me and he had his thing right in my face and he was wearing small shorts.”
So began a conversation in the booth behind me at the coffee shop. I do not go to the coffee shop to eavesdrop, but I also do not not go to the coffee shop to do it.
As I sat there, I had trouble imagining a guy at the gym waiting for the opportunity, waiting for a female friend to bend down so that he could be obvious about what he was about.
The young lady continued. “ I told him he to put some pants on. He did, but then he asked me, yeah but did you like what you saw.
“I said it’s just gross walking around with it out like that. Later on, I told his girlfriend about it and Keyshawn then told her I called him gross. She said that I was just trying to cause trouble.”
Further in the conversation, “…..over christmas he kept asking me to stay over. Just sleep with him in the same bed.”
This conversation I was eavesdropping on (they were directly behind me),to me shows that No Means No extends to well before physical contact.
I do feel for young men that are nervous about doing the wrong thing and getting in trouble. But this huy is the reason why consent has to be so direct.
The creep put his crotch in her face and she said stop. Is that illegal? I doubt it. But women should not have to experience this unwanted attention.
This creep was trying to shoot his shot. Test the waters. Asking himself why not put ‘it’ out there and see if it leads to something. Guys teach other males to:
“Go for it. Out of a 100 times, you may get turned down 99 times, but you still were successful once.”
Men’s libbido drives them to try to attain those successful times. But that doesn’t make it right. That might be the “reptilian brain” but we are equipped with more brain than that for a reason.
No means no needs to stand alone as a message.
But it should also come down to:
No means don’t do anything you wouldn’t want somebody to do to your sister or your mother.
No means no when you already have a girlfriend.
Really I think no means no to males trolling.
Giving attention to a pretty girl just because they are pretty.
Because women and girls have to deal with that daily. Instead of honest interaction, they have to deal with boys trying to get some action. And I think that a lot of that is not just “body parts in your face” attention. But it is attention that is not based on true connection and knowing the person.
Give attention to a pretty girl as you would anyone else. Give attention to a pretty girl if it is age appropriate, and you have other reasons why you like them.
