Yes, in politics, both sides engage on unscrupulous tactics. There is a bias as well. For example, Susan Crawford, who is on the ballot for Wisconsin’s supreme court, has donors from all 50 states. She has some bigger donors. And yet Musk is getting flack and protests for infusing his money into the election.
While my overall belief is that both sides do things that turn people off, I think the right is using tea party tactics to radicalize our country. That is why I think our main concern should be on Musk.
He is directly buying votes. Giving money directly to the voters. As the richest man, he is able to have more say than everyone else and that is simply wrong.
The focus of our concern should be how people are elected by how much money they can raise. It is not the better candidate, but the better campaign.
So why am I okay with Musk getting bashed and not others? Because of the evil intent that Musk, Trump, and too many right people have.
Because of why Musk wants to use his money. He needs to remove bulwarks to his agenda. Take away the checks and balances of our form of government.
Will Susan Crawford enact a liberal agenda? Only in the way the law allows. Conservatives too often throw around liberal agenda as a scare tactic. I would go as far as to say it is a bias. But when treated with respect, our court system with appeals can negate that.
Maga judges, however, have bought into fighting for control of the government. They have bought into their “Alternative facts” to make the laws fit their beliefs.
The evidence, to me, is not in the gross ads by both campaigns. It is in the arguments on Facebook (also gross). Non-Maga people are posting concerns of due process and checks and balances, and the Maga people are responding:
Trump’s deportations are good, no one but liberal judges are concerned.
If those people don’t like America, then why should they be here?
God saved Trump for a reason, to save our country.
In other words, they want their talking points. They want easy answers. The easy answers cannot be bought. Not by Musk, especially.
