Are We Truly Less Free? A Deeper Look

Republicans never say that we are less free. They say they feel less free.  The fact of the matter is that in Obama  years and then 4 more of Biden, they were not less free.  Are they talking about regulations to do business and build. Less free in that way, perhaps. But it is not repressive. Regulations are made so that people do things better. Are we being forced to drive electric cars? What law says we can’t drive a gas car?

There are more laws about how to build a house and how to put in a pool and what your mailbox can be painted. Sucky. But you are not less free.  Anyone that is against building regulations would soon be angry at someone else’s house being an eyesore and driving down house prices. Unless they are that redneck with car parts and couches in the front yard. And there is a good chance they’d be even angrier at a neighbor they did not approve of.

They will say yes but cancel culture. That is not the government.

They only way we are less free is by the republicans. Through government, they dictate what books people read, what female health rights there are, how free you are from being forced to pray, how free you are to vote, and what teachers may have on the walls.

Regulations on how many pieces of paper can be on a wall is a regulation. Based on danger. Being forced to have the ten commandments posted is being less free. Not being able to build on a wetland is a regulation. People are not free to do so, but it is not to control people, but to protect the ecosystem we live in.  A law that puts people in jail for driving to a state where abortion is legal is less freedom.

This less freedom thing is a fear tactic. Its people telling ghost stories to freak themselves out. I am not arguing that we should have lots of regulations. I am arguing for people to not take this fear tactic to heart.
