Society likes to dictate to women and tell them what to do and what they should do with their bodies. That traditionally things were decided by the man and a man was the king of their castle.

However, I want to talk about something lighter. With the whole Men are from Mars, When are from Venus concept, men were told that women do not want them to solve their problems. They just want someone to listen.

Men were bashed for trying to fix things for the women they care about. I can see how this can be misguided.

However, do women just listen to men. Are they a sound board?

You know the answer is no.

Furthermore, I submit that women love to give men unsolicited advice.

You should go to the doctor.

You need to slow down.

You need to call your mother.

If a man comes home and vents about their boss, does their partner just listen. Or do they say, well you better be careful. Don’t get into trouble.

Women want to fix men. Is that not a true statement? Yes, they get hurt by thinking they can fix a man. That problem is entirely eclipsed by this little rant.

But the truth is women also try to fix a man who is not really broken. They just want them how they want them.

This was supposed to be a funny piece.  It didn’t come out that way. While I think this situation spurs on the man movement where white men feel like they are treated like second class citizens, these thoughts are not in support of that movement.

People that are in that movement would be better off if they respected women, and also let one change them.

I guess that what needs to change is that people validate people’s feelings regardless of gender.
