Happiness is a matter of shattering

the shadows that hide us.”

This is a line from my poem We Are All The Moon in A State of Healing Anthology put together by The Homemade Author (G. Anthony) that has its launch tonight.

Here is my intro that I have prepared:

I am excited to be one of the contributors of this book. All my fellow poets have  wisdom on the page, and I have been learning from them as I read their poems.  I hope I can amplify their voices.

So I was the poet laureate of Oshkosh. I did so well they stopped the program completely. My assigned task by Mayor Palmeri was to heal the divide between people in the community. And of course I did, but that divide has come back. But  we have G. Anthony. He has created more than an anthology. He has created a movement where people heal through writing.

And being divided by pain from who we are meant to be from who we are, divides us as people as well. Through writing we can become strong enough to care for one another. That as I see it is homemade author’s mission.

From my contribution I want the reader to understand that poetry helps us find the answers to our problems. And those answers  are   within us.
