The True Wisconsin Poet

Many years ago, I met Louis V Clark III. He is a poet. However, when I met him, it took a back seat to his family. He worked on a county road crew and would write up poems to put in a baggy and attach to culverts.

Recently, he has found success. The Wisconsin Historical Society has published several of his books. This is a great match because he is everything a Wisconsin Poet should be. He is Native American, but also polish. He loves his Native American traditions, but is also a devout Christian. He has had hardships. He has a wonderful family with his wife in the center.

Mr. Clark is a humorist. He also broaches abuse and racism in a powerful way.

I recommend hearing him speak. The following link is from his book launch in Omro, Wisconsin.
